Environmental problem
It is estimated that more than 2 million seabirds and 100,000 Marine mammals die each year from human waste. The rainforest is home to many precious species, but its area is shrinking at an alarming rate of 10 million hectares a year. In view of the depletion of natural resources and the exploitation of the environment, governments and conservation organizations have been calling the world's attention to these serious problems. They are also trying to stop the situation from deteriorating through binding agreements and regulations.
